1. Eligibility & Registration
1.1 General Eligibility
- • Participants must be Nigerian citizens and residents
- • Age requirements: Minor League (13-17), Major League (18-27), Pro League (18+)
- • All information provided during registration must be accurate and verifiable
- • Participants may only register for one tier per competition year
1.2 Minor League Requirements
- • Must be enrolled in a recognized secondary school
- • Requires signed parental/guardian consent form
- • Parent/guardian must be primary contact for all communications
- • School endorsement required for participation
1.3 Registration Process
- • Registration is free and must be completed online
- • All required documents must be submitted by the deadline
- • Incomplete applications will not be considered
- • FODCON reserves the right to verify all submitted information
2. Competition Rules & Code of Conduct
2.1 Code of Conduct
- • Maintain respectful behavior toward all participants, judges, and staff
- • Follow all safety protocols and kitchen rules
- • No cheating, plagiarism, or dishonest practices
- • Respect cultural diversity and dietary restrictions
- • No harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior
2.2 Competition Integrity
- • All dishes must be prepared by the registered participant
- • Outside assistance during challenges is prohibited
- • Judges' decisions are final and binding
- • Any disputes must be raised immediately with competition officials
2.3 Disqualification
- • Violation of safety rules or code of conduct
- • Providing false information during registration
- • Failure to attend scheduled competition rounds
- • Any form of cheating or dishonest behavior
3. Media Rights & Privacy
3.1 Media Consent
- • Participants consent to photography and videography during the competition
- • FODCON may use participant images and videos for promotional purposes
- • Media content may be used across various platforms and publications
- • Participants will be credited appropriately in media usage
3.2 Data Protection
- • Personal data is collected only for competition purposes
- • Information is stored securely and accessed only by authorized personnel
- • Minor participants' data receives additional protection measures
- • Participants may request data deletion after the competition
3.3 Intellectual Property
- • Participants retain rights to their original recipes and techniques
- • FODCON may document and share cooking methods for educational purposes
- • Competition format and materials are proprietary to FODCON
4. Liability & Indemnity
4.1 Assumption of Risk
- • Participants acknowledge inherent risks in cooking activities
- • FODCON provides safety equipment and supervision
- • Participants must follow all safety instructions and protocols
- • Emergency medical procedures are in place at all venues
4.2 Limitation of Liability
- • FODCON's liability is limited to the extent permitted by law
- • Participants compete at their own risk
- • Insurance coverage is provided for official competition activities
- • Claims must be reported immediately to competition officials
4.3 Indemnification
- • Participants agree to indemnify FODCON against claims arising from their actions
- • This includes damages to property or injury to other participants
- • Parents/guardians of minors accept responsibility for their child's actions
5. Prizes & Awards
5.1 Prize Distribution
- • Prizes will be awarded as specified for each tier
- • Cash prizes are subject to applicable tax regulations
- • Scholarship and grant recipients must meet additional requirements
- • Prize distribution timeline will be communicated to winners
5.2 Tax Responsibilities
- • Winners are responsible for any applicable taxes on prizes
- • Tax documentation will be provided as required by law
- • Minors' prize tax obligations are the responsibility of parents/guardians
6. General Provisions
6.1 Modifications
- • FODCON reserves the right to modify competition rules with notice
- • Significant changes will be communicated to all participants
- • Continued participation constitutes acceptance of modifications
6.2 Governing Law
- • These terms are governed by the laws of Nigeria
- • Disputes will be resolved through Nigerian courts
- • Alternative dispute resolution may be offered
